Abstract

In the present investigation conductivity coefficients for 99.8 per cent pure lithium were measured over the range 420 to 1002 F. Lithium showed a value of 26 and 18 Btu/hr sq ft deg F/ft at 420 F and 1002 F, respectively. Measurements based on an absolute heat input proved unreliable. The results were based on a temperature gradient measured in an Armco iron heat sink, the thermal conductivity of which appears in the published literature. The estimated error of the results was ±10 per cent.
