The Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering and Technology Department (MMET) at Oregon Tech is currently comprised of sixteen faculty members serving a student body approximately 500 students and is the largest Department in the College of Engineering, Technology and Management. The department offers four degree programs: BSME (ABET-EAC accredited), BSMET (ABET-ETAC accredited), BSMFG (ABET-ETAC accredited) and MSMFG. The MMET Department is located on three campuses; the main Oregon Tech campus in Klamath Falls, OR; our campus located in the Portland-Metro area, and our branch campus located in Seattle, WA. The position start date will be July 2020, or as soon as possible thereafter.
We are seeking emerging leaders whose focus for teaching and research is digital manufacturing. There is an interest in both computational and experimental approaches with an emphasis on integration, validation and implementation of solutions to solve manufacturing challenges.
Applicants must have either a demonstrated track record or possess a clear potential to achieve excellence in research and teaching and must be willing to work with, or have experience working with industry, to implement innovative solutions for manufacturing challenges. The successful candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program, teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise Masters and Ph.D. students and provide service to the University.

We are committed to fostering interdisciplinary research to address grand challenges facing society. Faculty duties include teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels, advising students and conducting research. Candidates must hold an earned Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field by the beginning of employment.
