The Effect of Substantial Pretwist on the Stiffness Properties of Thin Beams of Cambered Section

A theoretical analysis is made of the changes in torsional and bending stiffnesses of beams, of asymmetric section, caused by pretwist. Results are presented for a limited range of elliptical sections possessing camber. Significant reduction in minimum bending stiffness is predicted for cambered sections.
