Abstract

The interaction among edge dislocations in an infinite array is introduced via a traction-free core boundary condition. The problem is reduced to a two-dimensional elastostatic one in which the formulation results in an integral equation. The solution of the integral equation yields the information required to calculate the elastic energy. The present method is compared to approximate theories where interaction between dislocation cores is neglected.
