Abstract

A straightforward method has been developed to solve the elasticity problem of long plane anisotropic rectangles with continuous polynomial stresses prescribed on the long sides and force and moment resultants prescribed on the terminal sections. Solutions for anisotropic cantilever under terminal concentrated load and for uniformly loaded, simply supported anisotropic beam have been given in detail. Results support the acceptability of a strength of materials theory for anisotropic beams.
